Terms of Service
Plain-language terms that govern your use of Uno, the EthicCode identity platform.
Introduction
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Uno, the identity and authentication platform operated by EthicCode ("EthicCode," "we," "us," or "our"). Uno includes the web application at ethiccode-uno.netlify.app, any APIs, and all related services.
By creating an account or using Uno, you agree to these Terms. If you're using Uno on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms.
If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use Uno.
Your account
Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years old to use Uno. By creating an account, you represent that you meet this requirement.
Account creation
You create a Uno account by providing a valid email address. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and for all activity that occurs under your account. Immediately notify us at letstalk@ethiccode.in if you suspect unauthorized access.
One account per person
Uno accounts are for individual use. Creating multiple accounts to circumvent restrictions, or sharing your account with others, is not permitted.
Accuracy
You agree to provide accurate information and to keep it up to date. Accounts with false or misleading information may be suspended.
Acceptable use
You agree to use Uno only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You agree not to:
Violation of these terms may result in immediate account suspension or termination.
The Uno service
What Uno provides
Uno provides centralized identity management, including email-based authentication (OTP and magic links), session management, OAuth 2.1 authorization for connected EthicCode products, and account management tools.
Availability
We strive for high availability but do not guarantee that Uno will be available at all times. We may perform maintenance (with advance notice where possible) that temporarily limits access.
Changes to the service
EthicCode may modify, add, or remove features of Uno at any time. We will provide reasonable notice for changes that materially reduce functionality. Your continued use of Uno after such changes constitutes acceptance.
Connected products
Uno facilitates access to other EthicCode products (CRM, AI, ERP, Docs, Mail, Meet, and others) via OAuth. Use of those products is subject to their own terms of service in addition to these Terms.
Beta features
We may offer features designated as "beta" or "preview." These features are provided as-is, may be unstable, and may be discontinued at any time without notice.
OAuth & connected apps
When you authorize a connected EthicCode product through Uno, you grant that product access to specific aspects of your Uno identity as defined by the OAuth scopes you approve.
Your responsibilities
Review the scopes requested before approving any OAuth authorization. Only approve applications from EthicCode or trusted developers. You can view and revoke any active OAuth connection from your Account → Connected Apps page at any time.
Scope of access
OAuth tokens are scoped and limited. A connected app can only access data within the scopes you approved. EthicCode products are forbidden from using OAuth tokens to access data outside their authorized scope.
Revocation
Revoking an OAuth connection immediately invalidates the associated tokens. The connected application loses access within seconds. Some application-side data may persist; review that product's terms for details.
Your data
Ownership
You own your data. EthicCode does not claim ownership of any content or information you provide to Uno.
License to operate
By using Uno, you grant EthicCode a limited, non-exclusive license to process your data solely to operate and improve the service as described in our Privacy Policy. This license terminates when you delete your account.
Data export
You can export all data Uno holds about you at any time from your Account → Data & Privacy page in JSON format.
Data deletion
You can permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time. Deletion completes within 30 days. Some data may be retained in backup systems for a short additional period before being purged, as described in our Privacy Policy.
Security responsibilities
Our responsibilities
EthicCode maintains reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect Uno against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction, as described in our Privacy Policy.
Your responsibilities
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account. This includes:
Security incident reporting
If you discover a security vulnerability in Uno, please report it responsibly to letstalk@ethiccode.in. We commit to responding within 48 hours and to not pursue legal action against good-faith security researchers.
Termination
By you
You may delete your Uno account at any time from Account → Personal Info → Delete Account. This immediately begins the account deletion process.
By EthicCode
We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, engage in fraudulent or abusive behavior, or if we are required to do so by law. We will provide advance notice where reasonably possible, except in cases of serious violations where immediate action is required.
Effect of termination
Upon termination, your access to Uno and all connected EthicCode products via Uno SSO will be revoked. Your data will be deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy. Some obligations under these Terms (including limitations of liability and governing law) survive termination.
Disclaimers & limitations
Disclaimer of warranties
Uno is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
EthicCode does not warrant that Uno will be uninterrupted, error-free, or completely secure. No method of internet transmission or electronic storage is 100% secure.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, EthicCode shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of or inability to use Uno.
EthicCode's total liability for any claim arising from these Terms or your use of Uno shall not exceed the amount you paid to EthicCode in the twelve months preceding the claim (or, if Uno is free, USD $10).
These limitations apply regardless of the theory of liability (contract, tort, or otherwise) and even if EthicCode has been advised of the possibility of such damages.
Governing law & disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict of law principles.
Informal resolution
Before filing a formal dispute, we encourage you to contact us at letstalk@ethiccode.in to seek an informal resolution. We will make good-faith efforts to resolve disputes within 30 days.
Disputes
Any disputes arising from these Terms that cannot be resolved informally shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in India.
Waiver of class action
You agree to bring claims against EthicCode only in your individual capacity, not as a plaintiff or class member in any class or representative action.
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will:
Your continued use of Uno after the effective date of any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms. If you disagree with changes, you may terminate your account before they take effect.
Minor changes (typo corrections, clarifications that don't affect your rights) may be made without notice.
General provisions
Entire agreement
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and EthicCode regarding Uno, and supersede all prior agreements.
Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, it will be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable, while the remaining provisions remain in full effect.
No waiver
EthicCode's failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms will not constitute a waiver of that right or provision.
Assignment
You may not assign your rights under these Terms without EthicCode's prior written consent. EthicCode may assign these Terms in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets with notice to you.
